I WILL BE INTRODUCING THE AUTHOR WHO WILL BE REPRESENTING AMOUROSE PRESS SOMETIME IN APRIL.
THANK YOU.
What to know about submitting queries to Amourose Press:
Please include genre, blurb (if any), as well as prior publishing credentials (if any). However, lack of prior publishing experience will not exclude a query or manuscript from perusal.
When sending queries, please attach the synopsis or outline and three sample chapters as attachments to your email. Chapters must be consecutive, double spaced, on 8' X 11' paper or in Microsoft Word, and in accordance with approved Industry Standards. This means, name, contact information (including email address) must clearly seen on the upper right hand corner of each page. Pages must be numbered.
NOTE: Submissions which are full of typos, grammatical errors, and is otherwise unreadable will rejected and returned immediately to the author.
Please send queries to amourosepress@amourosepress.com .
Amourose Press accepts the following genres: Chick Lit, young teen, romance (historical, paranormal, and present day), Westerns (if along the lines of Zane Grey, Louis L'Amour, we will consider them), and paranormal mystery and detective fiction. We are seeking fresh ideas, not cookie-cutter characters and plots. (Think outside the box, but not too far.) In regards to romantic fiction of any genre, we are not accepting any manuscript in which alpha males and docile females are the primary characters.
We do not accept the following: erotica, XXX, or any manuscript containing extreme violent or extreme sexual situations. We do not accept true life, nor fact based-or even loosely based-on real life situations. Nor are we accepting lesbian or gay fiction. (While I do foresee this will change in the future, I simply believe that right now there are other publishers much more worthy to give these fine manuscripts their proper due.)
Upon receipt of your query, you will receive a reply between a few days or six weeks. (During peak submission period the latter is strictly enforced. If you have not heard back from us after that time, please contact us.) If your sample chapters are accepted for further review, you will be asked to submit your entire manuscript (please use the same procedures as above).
If your manuscript is chosen, what does the contract contain?
First of all, NO author will ever be asked, enticed, nor coerced into paying for any part of the publication process. Amourose Press is responsible for all costs of the publication process, from editing, formatting, cover art, as well as distribution.
NOTE: AMOUROSE PRESS DOES NOT contract with underage authors outright, i.e minors, should their queries and submissions be accepted. In keeping with basic business practices, as well as state and federal law, should an author of minor age be accepted for publication with Amourose, at least one parent's consent as well as direct participation is required.
Authors whose manuscripts are accepted retain all rights. Contracts are for single book publication only and renewable on a yearly basis. In the event of dissatisfaction between either party, a thirty day "escape clause", revocable at any time during the length of the contract, is added for the benefit of the both. All of the author's property, i.e, manuscript, will be returned promptly within that thirty days.
Authors should expect their books to be available for publication within three months of contract. In the event there is a technical problem, the author will be notified immediately. (Due to the lack of staff at this time, this is normal.) Authors also receive two galleys of their novel, if needed, to ensure editing and material is correct. Authors will also receive 65% of the royalties on all sales earned and will receive their monies quarterly after the first date of publication.
Unless specifically asked for, no novel will be put up for sale as an serialized installment until it has rigourously been edited and formatted by professionals in those departments at Lulu.com.
